Wrexham to snap up Ligue 1 star?! Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney in negotiations to land Rennes ace after disappointing opening to Championship season

Wrexham are eyeing a move for Rennes star Jordan James after a disappointing start to their Championship 2025-26 campaign. The Red Dragons spent heavily in the transfer market in the summer to rebuild their squad, but lost their opening two matches against Southampton and West Brom. Thus, the Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney-owned side are now preparing to make further additions to bolster their team.

  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    According to , Wrexham have enquired about the availability of Welsh midfielder Jordan James as they look to sign the Rennes star for a fee in the region of €5 million (£4.3m/$5.8m). The Red Dragons, however, will face competition from Serie A club Parma, who want the player on loan this season with an option to buy.

    James moved to Rennes last summer from Birmingham City. Before his transfer to the Ligue 1, the 21-year-old had attracted interest from several clubs across Europe, although he eventually headed to France. He appeared in 25 matches across all competitions last season, where he scored one goal.
